“I feel most American when I vote. I even cry a little bit.”

To me, Election Day is the most patriotic day of the year. Of course one could argue that the 4th of July is the most patriotic. At least we aren’t a house divided that day and fireworks and star spangled banners are always fun to look at - but voting is a right not enjoyed by many people in this world, and if we don’t take advantage we are doing ourselves and those who fought this right a disservice. This is what makes America so great!
Regardless of how you vote today, we can vote and we can have an opinion. It is deeply moving for me to express this right (I am very in touch with my feelings) and I know it is an experience I’ll remember the rest of my life.
If you are voting today, please take some time to truly think about what that means. If you aren’t voting or are unable to vote, I encourage you to register for the next election. It is your civic duty! It is part of being an American! It is fabulous!
